Goodbye ‘New Orleans’

New Orleans … a definate MUST see.  This city is truly a place of it’s own 🙂

Driving through the Ninth Ward and around the surrounding areas was a true eye opener. The devastation that still exists not just in these areas but throughout the city from ‘Hurricane Katrina and the Levy break’ is astronomical … after 8 years.  My gosh … Truly sad.  The people here who have survived this are inspirational.

For a city so rich in history, sadly it’s still very rich in sadness.  However, the people here are amazing.  The hospitality and genuine kindness of locals and strangers on the street is unparalleled, by far.  I have to say that this is my favorite place so far and a city I definately want to and will come back to.

New Orleans ~ a truly original place 😉 Your cultural and culinary masterpieces will be missed.
