Happy Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a day of celebration honouring moms & motherhood (mother of the family) around the world.

Although founded/created in 1908 by Ann Jarvis (when she held a memorial for her mother), Mother’s Day did not become an official holiday (USA) until 1914. It is celebrated on various days in various countries, usually in March or May. For example: Mexico’s Mother’s Day is May 10th every year while Egypt celebrates Mother’s Day on the 21st of March (the first day of spring).

Carnations have also become synonymous with Mother’s Day throughout the years; traditionally a pink carnation is worn if your mother is alive and a white one in memory of a mother who is deceased.

Now that we’ve given you a little history lesson, 😉 we would like to wish all the mothers around the world a wonderful day of celebration in your honor.
